Premier League form rankings see Tottenham star rise but ratings tumble
Following on from gameweek 22 in the Premier League, we bring you the latest player form rankings based on WhoScored.com ratings weighted over each individuals' last six appearances. There's a new leader too, despite the top six all seeing their scores decline from last time around, with the countdown from 10 to 1 as follows.
Philip Billing (up 9) - 7.46
Huddersfield’s forgettable goalless draw with Cardiff may have ultimately brought an end to David Wagner’s time in charge, but one man that hasn’t let the German down all season is Billing. The 22-year-old earned the man of the match award on Saturday, producing three tackles and winning 13 of 15 aerial duels to climb nine places in this week’s rankings.
Lucas Digne (up 2) - 7.47
Digne returns to the leaderboard, rising two places to ninth, having played a crucial role at both ends in the Toffees’ 2-0 win over Bournemouth. The Frenchman registered his third assist of the season for Kurt Zouma’s opener and produced three tackles as Marco Silva’s side kept their first clean sheet in nine.
Christian Eriksen (-) - 7.48
The Dane keeps his place in eighth for the time being despite a frustrating afternoon’s work against Manchester United. While the playmaker created six chances he was wasteful in possession at times, misplacing 20 passes, and saw his rating drop as a result.
Felipe Anderson (up 5) - 7.48
While Declan Rice deservedly grabbed the headlines, and man of the match award, following his match winner against Arsenal, Anderson was a constant threat once more. He’s up five places to seventh having completed five dribbles, created four chances and produced three tackles in an excellent all round display.
Eden Hazard (-) - 7.58
It was something of a subdued performance leading the line against Newcastle but in setting up Willian’s winner the Belgian registered his tenth league assist of the season, becoming only the second player - after Lionel Messi - to do so in Europe’s top five leagues. He’s a non mover in sixth as a result but his rating is falling and so too will his ranking if that doesn’t change soon.
Marcus Rashford (-) - 7.67
Another player to keep his place from last time around, Rashford remains fifth having scored for the fourth league game in five under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It was a relatively quiet performance from the youngster aside from the decisive goal at Wembley, with his rating also dropping from the previous rankings.
Heung-Min Son (down 3) - 7.72
Relinquishing top spot as he jets off to take part in the Asian Cup, this is the last we’ll see of Son in the form rankings for some time as a result, signing off in fourth place. Despite a barrage of attacks from Tottenham in the second half, the 26-year-old mustered just two of his side’s 21 shots against United and failed to extend the inspired David de Gea.
Mohamed Salah (-) - 7.79
Gaining a share of the lead in the scoring charts following his match winner from the penalty spot against Brighton, Salah took his league tally to 14, ensuring that he has still had a direct hand in more goals than any other player in the league. The Egyptian has to make do with retaining his place in third, however, with four goals and three assists in his last six league appearances.
Ricardo Pereira (up 2) - 7.88
It’s been a curious run of results for Leicester, but one thing that has remained constant in that time has been the impressive form of Pereira. The versatile Portugal international had a hand in a goal for the third game in his last four appearances with the assist for Wilfried Ndidi’s strike against Southampton and while his rating has dropped very marginally from the previous rankings, the Foxes star is up two places.
Harry Kane (up 1) - 7.92
His rating may have dropped following a first goalless game in five in the league but Kane claims top spot over the last six appearances at the expense of clubmate Son after a stronger performance against United. Like his teammate, however, this is likely to be Kane’s last appearance in the form rankings for a while having sustained yet another ankle injury.
