Ligue 1 round-up: Nantes end winless run in emphatic fashion

Nantes brought their five-match winless run to an abrupt end with a resounding 4-0 win over Toulouse to leapfrog Monaco into the relegation playoff spot. Toulouse’s winless run now stands at six matches after the heavy defeat in a week that saw PSG maintain their 100% start to the league season with a comfortable 5-0 win over Amiens, their 10th triumph from 10 Ligue 1 outings this season.

PSG have three players in the best-rated XI of the week, but it’s Nantes striker Emiliano Sala who takes the top rated gong this week, with the Argentine landing a WhoScored rating of 9.26 from the victory over Toulouse. Indeed, Sala bagged a hat-trick in the win, with his three goals coming from six shots, while two aerial duels won and two fouls won contributed to a man of the match display.

Nantes teammate Enock Kwateng also podiums in the best rated players from gameweek 10. The youngster provided the assist for Sala’s hat-trick goal, with that assist coming from one of two key passes. Returns of one successful dribble, three tackles and six interceptions saw the 21-year-old come away from the success of Toulouse with a WhoScored rating of 8.94.

Claiming second spot on the podium is PSG ace Angel Di Maria, who put in a man of the match showing against Amiens. In an hour long cameo, with Thomas Tuchel keen to keep his players fresh for looming meetings with Napoli and Marseille, Di Maria helped himself to two assists in the resounding win, those coming from five key passes, while three successful dribbles saw the winger gain a WhoScored rating of 9.24.
