Chelsea enter top-10 form teams in Europe ahead of Europa League semi

Here we run through WhoScored’s exclusive top-10 team form rankings from Europe’s top five leagues and see how the weekend’s performances have impacted the list.

10. Leicester  - 6.98 weighted rating  (down two places)

Leicester are on the brink of dropping out of the top 10 following Monday’s narrow defeat away to Manchester City. The Foxes have won three of their last six in the league but have only won one of their last four. Things don't get much easier for Brendan Rodgers’ side with a home match against Chelsea to conclude their season next weekend.

9.  Hoffenheim – 7.02 weighted rating (non-mover)

Hoffenheim bounced back from their shock 4-1 defeat at home to Wolfsburg with a score-draw at Gladbach at the weekend. The Bundesliga outfit had won four in a row prior to meeting Wolfsburg and manage to remain in ninth place in our team form rankings.

8. Chelsea – 7.03 weighted rating (up 16 places)

Chelsea have rocketed up 16 places in our team form rankings and place eighth ahead of their Europa League semi-final second leg against Frankfurt on Thursday. Maurizio Sarri’s side rode their luck in the first half against Watford on Sunday but ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the end. Sarri’s side have lost just one of their last six in the league.

7. Lille – 7.04 weighted rating (down 1 place)

Lille will feel they have done enough to secure second place in Ligue 1 after battling to a 2-2 draw against third place Lyon at the weekend. Lille are six points clear of Lyon with three games to go and have not lost any of their last six in the league, perfectly alternating between winning and drawing in that time.

6. RB Leipzig – 7.05 weighted rating (down two places)

RB Leipzig’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Mainz at the weekend brought an end to their remarkable winning streak and all but ended their hopes of catching Borussia Dortmund in second. The Bundesliga outfit have won five of their last six in the league but fall two places after dropping points to 12th-place Mainz on Friday night.

5. Atalanta  - 7.06 weighed rating (non-mover)

Atalanta are non-movers for the third week in succession. The Serie A side have been a revelation in Italy this season and are remarkably on course to claim the final Champions League spot in Serie A for next term. Atalanta are unbeaten over their last six league matches and have faced Inter, Napoli and Lazio in that spell, beating the latter pair and drawing with the former.

4. Manchester City – 7.06 weighted rating (down two places)

Manchester City have one hand on the Premier League title after beating Leicester 1-0 on Monday courtesy of a Vincent Kompany stunner. Pep Guardiola’s side have now dug out two 1-0 victories in a row in the league, with that costing them places in our team form rankings. City have won each of their last six in the league but drop two places as a result of another hard-fought victory.

3. Bayern Munich – 7.09 weighted rating (non-mover)

Bayern Munich are the third non-movers in our top-10 team form rankings from Europe’s top five leagues. Niko Kovac’s side are now the clear favourites to win the Bundesliga after beating Hannover 3-1 to extend their lead at the top of the league to four points with two games left. While Dortmund have faltered, Bayern are unbeaten in their last six league matches and have won four of those.

2. Bayer Leverkusen – 7.09 weighted rating (up 20 places)

Bayer Leverkusen are up 20 places in our team form rankings and straight into second following Sunday’s remarkable 6-1 win over top-four rivals Frankfurt. Leverkusen entered the break 6-1 up before coasting through the second half. They have won four in a row in the Bundesliga and now sit outside the top four only on goal difference with two league games remaining.

1. Liverpool – 7.18 weighted rating (non-mover)

Liverpool have ensured the Premier League title race will go down to the wire after edging Newcastle in a 3-2 thriller on Saturday night. It looks likely that Jurgen Klopp’s side will endure another trophyless campaign despite reaching 94 points in the league with one game to go. Liverpool have won each of their last six in the league by a combined scoreline of 17-4. They maintain their status as the most in form side in Europe’s top five leagues as a result.
