Youth Watch: Real Madrid and Barcelona teens impress once again

 

A Bayern Munich teenager impressed on his full debut over the weekend, while Real Madrid and Barcelona stars also shone as Youth Watch rounds up the best rated performances by teenagers on the continent this past weekend. 

 

10. Papa Diallo (Metz) - 7.32 vs Strasbourg 

 

Papa Diallo did all he could to help Metz to victory at Strasbourg on Sunday as he registered his first assist of the season in the eventual 2-1 loss. That assist came from one of three key passes, while additional returns of four aerial duels won and four tackles helped Diallo to a WhoScored rating of 7.32. 

 

9. Lovro Zvonarek (Bayern Munich) - 7.41 vs Wolfsburg 

 

Lovro Zvonarek scored his first Bundesliga goal of his career on his first ever league start as an injury-hit Bayern made light work of Wolfsburg over the weekend. The Croat netted with his only shot and won two aerial duels in Sunday's 2-0 win. 

 

8. Kassoum Ouattara (Monaco) - 7.75 vs Montpellier 

 

Kassoum Ouattara netted his first league goal of the season as Monaco landed a solid 2-0 win at Montpellier on Sunday. The young defender put in a shift off the ball, too, as he made two clearances, one interception and one tackle in a clean-sheet attaining display. 

 

7. Arda Guler (Real Madrid) - 7.85 vs Granada 

 

With the La Liga season over, Carlo Ancelotti is giving his fringe players a run out and Arda Gular is grabbing the chance with both hands. The Turkish youngster scored in the 4-0 win over Granada, netting with one of two shots to help post a WhoScored rating of 7.85. 

 

6. Yankuba Minteh (Feyenoord) - 7.95 vs NEC Nijmegen 

 

Yankuba Minteh bagged his 10th league goal of the campaign in Feyenoord's entertaining 3-2 win at NEC Nijmegen, that coming from one of four shots. The on-loan winger worked hard off the ball, too, as he made three tackles in a fine showing. 

 

5. Brajan Gruda (Mainz 05) - 7.99 vs Borussia Dortmund 

 

Brajan Gruda put in a solid shift as Mainz 05 earned a fine 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening to boost their survival hopes. Gruda gave the Dortmund backline a torrid time as he completed six dribbles and made two key passes in the victory.

4. Joao Neves (Benfica) - 8.08 vs Arouca 

 

While much was made of Rafa's final Benfica appearance at the Estadio Da Luz, Joao Neves put in a fine showing in the middle of the park in their 5-0 win over Arouca. Neves utilised his impressive reading of the game to make three interceptions and drove forward well and he completed three dribbles. 

 

3. Eliesse Ben Seghir (Monaco) - 8.27 vs Montpellier 

 

While his previous appearance didn't quite go to plan, with Eliesse Ben Seghir dismissed in the 2-0 win over Brest last month, the teenage forward made amends with a player of the match performance against Montpellier. Indeed, the Frenchman managed four shots, three key passes and three dribbles to land a WhoScored rating of 8.27. 

 

2. Gustavo Sa (Famalicao) - 8.34 vs Chaves 

 

Gustavo Sa bagged his third league goal of the season as Famalicao defeated Chaves 1-0 at the weekend. Sa netted with his only shot and was unfortunate not to add an assist having made four key passes to help return a WhoScored rating of 8.34. 

 

1. Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) - 8.52 vs Real Sociedad 

 

Barcelona eased to a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad on Monday night with Lamine Yamal turning out a player of the match performance against La Real. Yamal netted his fifth league goal of the season and was a menace for the Sociedad backline as he completed six dribbles.
