The Football Association have confirmed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been handed a one-match touchline ban after being charged with improper conduct following an incident in their 1-1 draw with West Ham on Sunday.
Mourinho, 53, was sent to the stands midway through the first half of United’s draw with West Ham at the weekend after reacting furiously to Jonathan Moss’ decision to book Paul Pogba for a dive rather than award United the free kick.
The Portuguese manager proceeded to kick a water bottle down the touchline in his frustration before he was directed up to the stands after Moss was alerted to the incident by the fourth official.
“The Manchester United manager admitted an FA charge that his behaviour in or around the 27th minute of the game against West Ham United on Sunday [27 November 2016] amounted to improper conduct,” a statement read on the FA’s official website. “He was also fined £16,000”.

It means Mourinho will be unable to take to the dugout for United’s EFL Cup quarter final against West Ham on Wednesday night before returning to the touchline for United’s match against Everton on Sunday.
Mourinho has now been sent off as many times in home league matches than he has managed wins at Old Trafford in the league (2).
