Arsenal have set their sights on Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey as a replacement for Barcelona target Hector Bellerin, claims The Daily Mirror.
Lamptey has been a revelation for Brighton since Project Restart after leaving Chelsea at the start of last season.
The 20-year-old, who will miss Brighton's game against Arsenal in midweek through injury, was even linked with Bayern Munich in the summer.
Bayern ended up signing Bouna Sarr instead but Lamptey is now a transfer target for Mikel Arteta's side.
Barcelona are back in the market for Bellerin and Arteta wants to turn to youth in order to drive Arsenal out of their current difficult period.
Lamptey is one of four players in the Premier League to have both won a penalty and conceded one. However, only Patrick Bamford and Jamie Vardy (both 3) have won more than Lamptey (2).
