Fulham looking to bolster defence with £25m addition
Fulham are the latest Premier League side to express an interest in signing Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, claims The Sun.
Tierney, 21, is regarded as one of the best prospects in Britain and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Everton expressed an interest in the Scotland international earlier this summer but baulked at Celtic’s £25m asking price.
The Toffees eventually pulled the plug on their pursuit of the 21-year-old and are now on the verge of signing Lucas Digne from Barcelona.
Celtic are in no rush to sell Tierney after penning a new six-year deal with the Scottish giants in October.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are bracing themselves for interest right the way until the end of the window and now Fulham are in the running for his signature.
Fulham have already spent just shy of £40m this summer and are set to splash a further £27m to re-sign Aleksandar Mitrovic on a permanent basis.
However, it has now emerged they are weighing up a stunning £25m bid for Tierney to further bolster their defensive options for the new season.
Of Celtic players that made more than one appearance in the Champions League last season, Tierney garnered the highest WhoScored rating (6.78).
