Leicester set to break transfer record for Spanish striker

Leicester City are confident of securing the services of Deportivo La Coruna star striker Lucas Perez and are even willing to break their club transfer record to sign the Spaniard, according to The Guardian.

The newly crowned Premier League champions are set for a busy recruitment drive over the summer as they gear up for Champions League football next season and Claudio Ranieri is keen to add competition up front for Jamie Vardy.

Leicester are even prepared to go big in the summer and are looking to surpass the £9m they spent on Andrej Kramaric, now on loan at Hoffenheim, from Rijeka in January last year.

Perez, 27, has struggled throughout his career but has really flourished with his boyhood club this season. In fact, aside from those playing for the big three in Spain, only two players have scored more goals in La Liga than Perez (17).
