Roma's record goalscorer Francesco Totti is desperate for the club to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko this summer.
Dzeko, 29, only signed a new four-year deal in August, but looks set to leave the Etihad Stadium after dropping significantly down the pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini.
The Serie A side are reportedly frontrunners to sign the Bosnia & Herzegovina international and Totti admits he is thrilled by the prospect of playing alongside the former Wolfsburg forward at the Stadio Olimpico next season.
"I hope he's among the new signings because he's a top player, formidable at scoring goals," Totti told reporters in Australia on Roma's pre-season tour. "He'd help us do better."
Since joining City in January 2011, of all players to have scored more than 30 goals in the Premier League, only his teammate Sergio Agüero (110.5mins) has scored at a quicker rate than Dzeko (129.9mins).
