Kane shines in Mourinho's final Tottenham game to lead Premier League best XI

The big news over the weekend was the creation of the European Super League, which has caused uproar in the world of football, and the Premier League action felt secondary by comparison. Nevertheless, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United, all of whom have signed up for the competition, all feature in the best XI from the weekend's action.

Alisson (Liverpool) - 7.23

Liverpool have two players make the Premier League team of the week after their 1-1 draw at Leeds on Monday night. Alisson was unable to prevent Diego Llorente from bagging a late equaliser, but was solid when called upon as he made four saves and two high claims to yield a WhoScored rating of 7.23.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) - 7.88

The second Liverpool representative is right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 22-year-old registered his fifth league assist of the season at Elland Road, teeing up Sadio Mane to put the Reds ahead. That assist came from one of two key passes, while additional returns of seven clearances, three interceptions and two tackles helped Alexander-Arnold to a WhoScored rating of 7.88.

Diego Llorente (Leeds) - 8.17

Remaining with Leeds' 1-1 draw with Liverpool, Diego Llorente bagged a key late equaliser for the Whites to secure a point as the Spaniard picked the perfect moment to bag his first league goal for the club. Llorente utilised a WhoScored strength of 'passing' to good effect as he picked out a teammate with 93.8% of his 97 attempted passes to contribute towards his inclusion with a rating of 8.17.

Romain Saiss (Wolves) - 8.13

Wolves are the dominant side in the Premier League team of the week with three players after their 1-0 win over Sheffield United to relegate the Blades. Romain Saiss was solid at the back in the clean sheet victory as he made seven clearances, three tackles and one interception, and won six aerial duels, to earn the WhoScored man of the match award with a rating of 8.13.

Luke Shaw (Manchester United) - 7.86

Rounding off the defence is the first of two Manchester United players after their 3-1 win over Burnley. While Luke Shaw was unable to have a hand in a goal, it wasn't for want of trying as he managed more key passes (6) than any other player this gameweek. Shaw bombarded up field well, too, as he completed three dribbles to help return a WhoScored rating of 7.86.

Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) - 8.74

Mason Greewood has been in exceptional form domestically of late. The Manchester United youngster bagged a brace in Sunday's 3-1 win over Burnley to extend his goalscoring run to four games in domestic competition. Greenwood's two goals came from five shots to help return a WhoScored rating of 8.74.

Adama Traore (Wolves) - 7.72

Adama Traore is on a roll. Before April, the Spaniard had failed to have a direct hand in a goal this season, but has since provided two assists and scored once in his three league outings this month. The wing wizard's assist for Willian Jose's only goal in the 1-0 win over Sheffield United came from four key passes. The Blades did all they could to restrict Traore as he was fouled six times and that helped him to a WhoScored rating of 7.72.

Joao Moutinho (Wolves) - 7.37

Traore's Wolves teammate Joao Moutinho features in the middle of the park on the back of his assured display against the Blades. The experienced midfielder found a Wolves player with 95.4% of his 65 attempted passes on Saturday and he worked hard off the ball, too, making three tackles and three interceptions to garner a WhoScored rating of 7.37.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (Everton) - 8.36

One of three players to bag a brace this week, Gylfi Sigurdsson scored his fifth and sixth league goals of the season in Everton's 2-2 draw with Tottenham to complete the midfield. The Icelandic midfielder found a way past Hugo Lloris with two of his four efforts on goal and was unfortunate not to add an assist, too, as he managed four key passes to land a WhoScored rating of 8.36.

Harry Kane (Tottenham) - 8.79

Our Premier League player of the week with a WhoScored rating of 8.79, Harry Kane opened up a two-goal lead in the race for the Golden Boot with a brace in Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Everton, a stalemate that proved to be Jose Mourinho's last at the Spurs helm. In addition to his brace, Kane made two key passes and completed two dribbles.

Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle) - 7.84

Joining Kane on the frontline is Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin. The Magpies forward was unfortunate not to have a direct hand in a goal against West Ham on Saturday as he managed five shots and created five goalscoring chances, all the while completing three dribbles, to help secure a WhoScored rating of 7.84.
