Saturday's Premier League man of the match performances revealed

There may have only been three Premier League matches due to the FA Cup quarter-final but there was enough drama to make up for a lack of action and plenty of impressive performances to dissect. We run through the day’s man of the match winners from England’s top-flight.

Josh King - 8.23: BOURNEMOUTH 2-2 Newcastle

So nearly the match winner for Bournemouth, Josh King scored both of the home side’s goals as they ultimately shared the spoils following an injury time equaliser from former Cherry Matt Ritchie.

The Norway international’s first came from the spot to cancel out Salomon Rondon’s opener just after the break, and the 27-year-old netted with both of his attempts having later converted in the 81st minute. With a further two key passes and three tackles, King earned a fifth man of the match award of the season, the last four of which have come at home.

Wes Morgan - 8.25: Burnley 1-2 LEICESTER

Having started the match on the bench the chances of Morgan ended the match at Turf Moor as man of the match would have seemed an impossibility.

However, the veteran centre-back was called into action after just five minutes following an early bath for Harry Maguire and went on to play a pivotal role as the Foxes picked up all three points regardless. The Jamaican international scored the 90th minute winner having won six aerial duels and made eight clearances beforehand.

Karlan Grant - 8.09: West Ham 4-3 HUDDERSFIELD

While the game ended in heartache for an already doomed Huddersfield at the London Stadium it was one to remember for January signing Grant.

The 21-year-old scored twice to take his tally to three in just 303 minutes of action since arriving from Charlton, which is already more than both Steve Mounie and Laurent Depoitre combined. The striker found the net with both of his attempts at goal and will be a key player as the club plan for their impending return to the Championship.
